According to the NBU Resolution №82 of June 20, 2019, from October 1, 2019, coins with denominations of 1, 2 and 5 kopecks cease to be a means of payment during cash payments. Coins with a denomination of 25 cents are in circulation until a separate decision is taken by the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine on their withdrawal.
In this regard:
1) from October 1, 2019, it is forbidden to issue coins of small denominations of all types of cash operations from banks’ offices;
2) until October 18, 2019, compulsory acceptance from clients – legal entities, regardless of the organizational and legal form, separate divisions of legal entities, individuals engaged in business, coins of denominations 1, 2 and 5 cents for crediting to accounts;
3) until 30 September 2020, the exchange of denominations of individuals with coins shall take place
1, 2 and 5 cents for coins and banknotes of all denominations in circulation, in the amount of multiples of 10 cents, without charge for such an exchange;
4) with coins of 25 kopecks denomination, only profitable transactions are carried out with legal entities and individuals for crediting accounts, deposits, letters of credit, for transfers.
