What to do if the hryvnia banknotes were damaged by fire?
Significantly damaged hryvnia banknotes due to fire or something can be given for research to compensate for losses.
Where to go?
To the regional branches of money circulation of the National Bank of Ukraine, which currently operate in Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa, Khmelnytsky and Lviv regions.

First, you should call the relevant regional branch of the NBU and find out if the branch is working in your city in the coming days.
Under martial law, in order to simplify the procedure for exchanging fire-damaged banknotes, the regional divisions of the NBU’s monetary circulation were provided with appropriate explanations on the acceptance and exchange of such banknotes.
Along with the damaged banknotes, it is necessary to provide a certificate of fire, catastrophe, occurrence of another situation (if any), or indicate in the application the situation as a result of which the banknotes were damaged.

Independently violate the integrity of banknotes if damage to two or more banknotes has led to their bonding (sintering).
If there is no money circulation unit of the National Bank of Ukraine in your region
In this case, you need to contact the authorized banks (Oschadbank, Privatbank, Raiffeisen Bank, FUIB).

Authorized banks do not inspect significantly damaged banknotes, but pack them with maximum integrity and transfer them as doubtful for research to the National Bank of Ukraine together with the bearer’s statement, certificate of withdrawal (acceptance) of banknotes for research and certificate of fire, disaster, occurrence another situation (if any).
How much will be reimbursed?
According to the results of research conducted by the National Bank of Ukraine free of charge, customers are reimbursed the appropriate amount of banknotes of the national currency, recognized as genuine and payment. Non-payment banknotes are not refunded by the National Bank.
