This coin commemorates Josef Slipyj (born Yosyp Kobernytskyi-Dychkovskyi). A church leader, a public figure, a pedagogue, a patron of the arts and a theologian, Josef Slipyj was the patriarch of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church from 1975 to 1984. Josef Slipyj, who symbolizes the indomitable spirit of the Ukrainian people, strived to unite Ukrainians throughout the world.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
