The coin commemorates twenty years since the adoption of the Ukrainian constitution. Adopted on 28 June 1996 by the Ukrainian parliament in the name of Ukrainian citizens of all nationalities, the Ukrainian constitution enshrines the fundamental rules that govern the organization and functioning of the Ukrainian state and society<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

<\/td>\nObverse (vertically divided into matt and smooth surfaces): above is Ukraine`s small coat of arms, to the right of which is the semicircular legend \u0423\u041a\u0420\u0410\u0407\u041d\u0410 (Ukraine); in the center is the building of the Ukrainian parliament with a floral ornament on the left of it; under the building is the coin`s issue year of 2016; below is the semicircular legend bearing the coin`s face value: 5 \u0413\u0420\u0418\u0412\u0415\u041d\u042c (5 hryvnias).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\nReverse (vertically divided into matt and smooth surfaces): in the center is a conventionalized image of an open book, above which is the twig of a guelder rose, to the right against a smooth background is the legend 20\/\u0420\u041e\u041a\u0406\u0412 (20\/years) and the semicircular legend \u041a\u041e\u041d\u0421\u0422\u0418\u0422\u0423\u0426\u0406\u042f \u0423\u041a\u0420\u0410\u0407\u041d\u0418 (Ukrainian constitution); to the left, against a smooth background, is the text from the first articles of the Ukrainian constitution: Article 1. Ukraine is a sovereign, independent, democratic, social, and law-governed country. \/ Article 2. Ukraine`s sovereignty applies to the entire country. Ukraine is a Unitarian country. Ukraine`s territory, as defined by the existing boundaries, is indivisible and inviolable. \/ Article 3.
